Thoughts

Its 9.06am, I've just had like 5 hours of sleep. Time has never been so precious to me before. As i sit before my computer, i reflect on the time spent. Question is, was it worth it?

Many at times, we take our parents for granted.

Your mom goes to work each day to fight a tough battle at work. After a long tiring day, she comes home.

Your mom takes the time to cook dinner for you, yet you tell her, 'Mom, I'm not eating at home, I'm meeting my friends for dinner' and you go on thinking on what a nag she is.

Your mom asks you to take a shower and you shout at her, thinking that she is such a nag.

As you watch your TV, your mom takes your dirty laundry and washes them for you even after going through a tiring day , because she loves you.

Yet you don't realise her love, and you take it as your own outright entitlement.

When your mom has no time on her way back home to buy you the pastry you made her promise to get you.

You get angry at her. She reasons out. yet she keeps quiet and gives in. Cause she loves you.

When you are sick, she leaves her work earlier to bring you to the clinic.

She pays for the bills. She asks how your feeling. She carries the medicine for you. Flags a cab and brings you back home to the doorstep. Cause she cares for you.

When you get better, you don't even remember her care and effort she took.

She gives you pocket money and asks if you have enough to spend.

You compare to your friends whom are getting more. You argue with your mom why you should get more money from her.

She tries her best to give you the best in life. She pays for the bills. She buys the fancy clothes you want.

Yet You ask for more.

As you go to sleep each night. She hangs the laundry. She washes the dishes. She locks the windows and doors. She comes to check if your tuck asleep. Yet you don't realise it.

How many of us are guilty of not treating our parents the way they deserve to be treated?

Have you told her straight, you love her? Have you spared a thought each day and commend her? Have you wondered how she felt each time you shouted back at her?

It may not be the same for each of us, cause our parents are different.

But one thing in common, they are a reflection of a superior being in this world, in which some would call 'Daddy God'. Question is, 'are we loving them the way they deserve to be loved?'
